$605 raised

Hello friends! I am creating this fundraiser as the founder of Crafty Queers & Allies (CQA), a local meetup group for LGBTQ+ adults and allies. Our goal is to create a safe and affirming crafting collective, led by and centering local queer crafters. We have multiple events each month that allow us to explore different artistic media and learn new skills, from woodworking to watercoloring, needlecrafts to costuming. My goal has always been to provide free or low cost access to these events. Check us out on Meetup.com or on Instagram @craftyqueersandallies.

As a community of educators, lifelong learners, and queer folx from all walks of life, we deeply understand the importance of early support systems for LGBTQ+ youth, especially trans youth, and especially now. Please consider donating to our fundraiser in support of We Are Family's many programs. If you donate, your dollars will go toward supporting multiple programs, including:
- Mental Health Assistance Program: Provides free mental health services for LGBTQ+ young people.
- Gender Affirming Gear: Offers free gender-affirming products (clothing, binders, etc.) to transgender and gender non-conforming young people.
- Trans Love Fund: Provides rapid response micro-grants to transgender individuals throughout the state.
- Art Therapy: An art therapy group for middle and high schoolers.
- KidSpace: A supportive therapeutic play group for kids in elementary school.

Your donation will help make a difference in so many young people's lives. Any amount is appreciated!

Meet some Crafty Queers:
Steph E.
Hello friends! I am Steph, a queer, nonbinary science teacher, teacher educator, and queer activist. When I was a high school teacher, I served as an advisor to the school's "Safe Space" club. I have called Charleston my home for almost two decades now, and in the time I've been here, I've watched We Are Family grow into a beacon of hope for LGBTQ+ youth across the Lowcountry.

Jenn R.
My name is Jenn, I am a certified teacher, currently teaching elementary art. I am a huge advocate for children having safe places to be able to fully express themselves. I got involved with We Are Family when I first moved to Charleston, as their vision and goals for the community aligned with my own. Now, as a parent, I appreciate their mission even more.

Sheila S.
I'm Sheila and I am a writing instructor at Trident Tech. Please help us give LGBTQ+ youth the resources we wish we had growing up!
